Everything you need to know before ordering.
Is it safe to send you my personal details?
Yes. You never send us anything physical or irreplaceable. You share only digital information — a name, a date, a photo, a scan of a fingerprint or handwriting. We craft from that. Your files are used solely to make your piece, and nothing else.
What happens after I place my order?
Each piece is made-to-order. We confirm your details, our artisans engrave by hand, and we finish and check your piece before it ships. Most orders are crafted and on their way within 10–14 business days, with tracking.
How does the personalisation work?
You give us the names, dates, initials, or fingerprint that matter to you. We translate them into precise laser engraving — indelible, made to last. No two pieces are ever the same.
What is it made of, and is it guaranteed?
Hypoallergenic 316L stainless steel, finished in 18k gold, 925 silver, or rose gold. Every piece is covered by our 5-year warranty — repaired or replaced, no questions.
Where do you ship?
Everywhere. Shipping is free worldwide, with tracking; express is available at checkout.
Can I return or exchange?
Because each piece is personalised for you, we craft it with extra care and check it before it ships. If anything isn't right, contact us at contact@heirpearl.com — we'll make it right.
Orders & personalisation
How do I personalise my piece?
After choosing your design, simply enter the name(s), date(s) or short text in the personalisation field. For handwriting or paw prints, you can upload a digital photo of the original on a clean white background — we'll convert it into a precise laser engraving. We never ask for ashes, hair, or any physical material.
Can I see a preview before you start making it?
Yes. For complex pieces (custom handwriting, paw prints, photo lockets), our team sends you a digital preview by email within 24 hours of ordering. We only start crafting once you approve.
Can I order more than one name or date on the same piece?
Absolutely. Most designs allow up to 3 names or dates. For larger families or longer engravings, email us at contact@heirpearl.com before ordering — we'll let you know what's possible.
Can I cancel or change my order?
Because every piece is made-to-order and personalised, cancellations and changes are only possible within 12 hours of placing your order. After that, your engraving has begun. Email us as soon as possible at contact@heirpearl.com.
Shipping & delivery
How long does shipping take?
Every piece is made-to-order. Your total delivery window is 10–14 business days from the moment you place your order — this includes both engraving and worldwide tracked shipping. Express shipping is available at checkout for faster delivery.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Standard tracked shipping is free worldwide. Express shipping is available for $14.95 USD.
Will I be charged customs or import duties?
For most destinations, no. For a few countries (notably in the EU, UK, AU, NZ) customs may apply locally. We don't collect duties at checkout — any local charge is the responsibility of the recipient. If in doubt, check your country's import rules before ordering.
How do I track my order?
Once your piece ships, you'll receive an email with a tracking link. If you don't see it within 48 hours of the shipping notification, check your spam folder or write to contact@heirpearl.com.
Materials, care & warranty
What is each piece made of?
Our core material is 316L surgical-grade stainless steel — hypoallergenic, resistant to tarnishing, and suitable for sensitive skin. Pieces are finished in 18k gold plating, sterling silver or rose gold depending on your choice.
Is the jewellery waterproof?
It is water-resistant : you can shower, wash hands and sweat without damage. For longest life, we recommend removing your piece before swimming in chlorine or salt water, and before using lotion, perfume or hair products directly on it.
How do I clean my jewellery?
Wipe gently with a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse and pat dry. Avoid abrasives, alcohol and chemical jewellery cleaners on plated pieces.
What does the 5-year warranty cover?
Every Heirpearl piece is backed by a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects and against tarnishing of the plating under normal wear. If something goes wrong, we repair or replace it — no questions, no fuss. The full warranty terms are in our policies.
Returns & refunds
Can I return a personalised piece?
Because each piece is made-to-order and engraved with your specific names, dates or images, personalised items cannot be returned for change of mind. Defective pieces or shipping errors are of course replaced free of charge.
What if my piece arrives damaged or wrong?
Email contact@heirpearl.com within 14 days of delivery with a photo. We will replace the piece at no cost to you — including reshipping.
What if my piece tarnishes or breaks within 5 years?
That's exactly what the warranty covers. Reach out, send a photo, and we repair or replace it. See our full return policy for details.

Where are you based?
Heirpearl is a small online studio. We ship worldwide and operate exclusively online — no physical store. Our customer care team is reachable by email any day of the week.
Is part of my order really donated?
Yes. 1% of every Heirpearl order is donated to charities supporting bereavement, perinatal loss and end-of-life care. We publish the partners on this site as the program grows.

I'm ordering this to honour someone who has recently passed away — how do I know you'll handle their story with care?
We understand that ordering for someone you've lost is a deeply personal act. Every Heirpearl piece is made-to-order, handled by a real person, and we only work from the information you choose to share. We never ask for physical items — only a name, a date, a handwritten message, or a digital photo if your design requires it. If you'd like to share the story behind the piece before ordering, you're always welcome to write to us at contact@heirpearl.com — we read every message.
Are the photos and personal details I submit kept private?
Yes, completely. The names, dates, photos or handwriting you share are used solely to create your piece. We do not store, sell, or share your personal data beyond what is needed to fulfil your order. All files are deleted from our systems once your order is shipped. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Can I include text in another language, or use a date format from a specific country?
Absolutely. We engrave in any script that our laser system supports — this includes Latin alphabets (French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch and more), as well as most accented characters. For non-Latin scripts or unusual date formats, please email us at contact@heirpearl.com before ordering so we can confirm what's possible for your specific design.
Sizing & fit
How do I find my ring size?
We have a full Ring Size Guide with a US size chart (sizes 3–13), two easy measurement methods (the ring method and the string method), and tips for wide bands. If you're between sizes, we always recommend going up half a size.
How do I choose the right necklace length?
Our Necklace Length Guide shows you exactly where each standard length falls on the body — from 16" (high choker) to 30" (mid-chest statement). Our most popular length is 18", which sits just below the collarbone and flatters almost every neckline. Still unsure? Email us with a photo of your neckline and we'll advise before you order.
Can I request a custom size not listed?
Yes. For rings, we can accommodate most sizes within our supplier's range. For necklaces, we can often accommodate custom lengths. Email us at contact@heirpearl.com before ordering and we'll confirm what's possible.
